A new (and longshot) party joins the Chawosaurian political system
On August 28, 2023, a new (and potentially pointless) political party was formed in the Chawosaurian world, called the Conservative Party of Chawosauria, and their goal is to govern based on conservative values and principles.But this is a longshot party because conservatism is not fashionable in Chawosaurian politics. It is extremely outdated, perceived as "old", and there are widely stereotypes and tropes about conservatism that American conservatism doesn't help Chawosaurian conservatism scrub away. Tropes and stereotypes being that conservatives are bigoted, hate-minded, too excessively and unnecessarily reactionary to societal change, and often contradictory on economics and personal responsibility. For example, conservatives want to cut government spending while opposing cuts to the military (who do you think funds the military?).
Chawosaurians saw conservative events in recent times such as the January 6 attack on the U.S. Congress, the obnoxiousness of the Canadian Trucker Convey, and the aggression of social conservatism in the U.S. following Roe v. Wade's overturning.
But how is this new party perceived in the Chawosaurian public? Long story short: Chawosaurians are very unimpressed and not all that sympathetic to the conservative cause. Chawosaurians believe it is pointless and not worth their time. In fact, the Chawosaurian Democratic Party tried a conservative approach before, during the 2019 Chawosaurian Parliamentary election: that didn't ...like, turn out! 😳
But Jonathan Lothian McGettigan's wisdom is that he learns from the horrible failure of leading the Chawosaurian Democratic Party down to a horrible and utter miserable defeat, though. By starting a separate conservative party, while the Chawosaurian Democratic Party is trying to rebrand itself with new leaders and new people with new ideas, which are basically pre-2019 ideas that founded the Chawosaurian Democratic Party in the first place, as well as resurrecting the original goal of the CDP as being a response to the Chawosaurian Communist Party, though that roll is being occupied by the Social Democratic Workers' Labour Party.
Abooksigun Eluwilussit, Adsila Ahyoka, and Degotoga K. Atagulkalu founded the Chawosaurian Democratic Party in 2016 in response to the Chawosaurian Revolution, believing the regime of Chawosaurian socialism is finally crumbling: they were ultimately wrong and they misread the room, Chawosaurian socialism did not fall, but evolved with a new generation of Chawosaurians who demanded more democratization though it didn't mean they wanted capitalism. Democracy and capitalism are actually two different desires, and sometimes one can want one but not the other. Some of the communist countries of Eastern Europe did not become capitalist states, but moderated their socialist economies to social democratic economies.
Chawosaurian Conservatives want to talk about the debt, but that's an eye roll amongst Chawosaurians. Chawosaurian Conservatives want to cut government spending, but Chawosaurians laughed at it, believing "they will try" and Chawosaurian Conservatives want a smaller government, except the problem is banning abortion, public drag shows, books, and same-sex marriage are not what libertarians would call "small government" in fact a poll from BBC Chawosauria revealed that 96% of Chawosaurians oppose banning drag shows, versus only 1% of Chawosaurians who support such a policy.
We're talking about extremely different values between the Chawosaurian general public and the Conservative Party of Chawosauria, which is why this party may be too pointless to exist unless they radically change their style and do some updates on their platform.
