Chawosauria seeks to change their Regional Cantons

The Empire of Chawosauria wants to change its Regional Cantonal borders, which means there will be new Regional Cantons but at the expense of at least some of the already existing ones. This is taking place at a time when borders, in general, have become universally unpopular amongst the Chawosaurian public all thanks to the Ural Wall, which is a border between two of Chawosauria's Continental Federal Republics in Eurasia: the Federal Republic of Asia and the Federal Republic of Europe.
Some Regional Cantons will dissolve to make room for their successors; some Regional Cantons will lose their independence, and some of the new Regional Cantons will gain independence from Regional Cantons spared from the border changes. Some Regional Cantons that are fortunate to stay will be renamed.
Of all the Regional Cantons that will collapse: the Southern United States will lose cantonal unity and become divided into five new RCs: the Canton of Appalachia, the Canton of Florida, the Canton of Kingsmania, the Canton of Carolina, and the Canton of Texas; while Kansas, Maryland, Delaware, Missouri, and Washington DC will fall under the control of the Northern United States' RC that was renamed from Yankeeland to Grantopia in honor of U.S. Union General and 18th President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant. The reason the Chawosaurian government wanted to split the south apart was because of the weariness of a united south, anti-southern prejudice, and extreme fears of a potential southern uprising against Chawosaurian rule if the south remains united, though no such rebellion is being planned, these fears are based on the inability to trust southerners.
Other RCs that will divide up are Eastern Canada, the Andes, Oceania, and the Balkans, their cantonal unities will end for varying reasons: nationalism, economics, etc.
What is a Regional Canton?
A Regional Canton is the administrative division of a Continental Federal Republic, and CFRs are the main and first in command administrative divisions of the overall Chawosaurian empire. RCs are second in command, but more generally, CFRs serve as the Soviet Socialist Republics of Chawosauria and RCs serve as the U.S. States of Chawosauria.
But RCs are not allowed to their own governments, the objective of an RC is systemic cultural assimilation and the job of the CFR is to contribute by commanding local resources to support the means of Chawosauria's Chawopolis regime. The RC offers to preserve cultural and ethnic heritage by existing as a land of origin of a cultural and ethnic group but can only exist in Chawosauria if the people give their culture up to Chawosauria and "Chawosaurianize" into the Empire of Chawosauria.

Chawosauria originally had 38 RCs, that number will likely go up dramatically.
Chawosauria will dissolve the Cantonal unities of the Southern United States, the Balkans, the Andes, Eastern Canada, and Oceania. Chawosauria will unify their western European cantons into the Canton of Rome; the Cantons of Arabia, Scandinavia, Northern, and Southern Africa will lose ground, while the Cantons of Western Canada and the Northern United States will gain ground.
The Cantons that will be renamed are the Northern United States, the Cone region of South America, Southern Africa, Northern Africa, Western Africa, Central Asia, East Asia, South Asia, the East Indies, and Middle America (the region in the Americas; not the American political term).

The Cantons that survived
The Cantons of Alaska, North Canada, Northern United States, Germania, Britain, Scandinavia, Greenland, East Asia, South Asia, Arabia, North Africa, Southern Africa, West Africa, the Congo, Indochina, Thailand, Brazil, the Cone, Colombia, the Guineas, Greece, the East Indies, Western Canada, and Middle America will all get to keep their independence.
The new Cantons
The new Cantons of Rome, Kenyatta, Australia, Zealandia, Kingsmania, Texas, Carolina, Madagascar, Atlantica, Ontario, Quebec, Iceland, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Stalina, Yugoslavia, and Appalachia, have all gained independence.
The Northern United States
Not only just the North gets to keep their cantonal autonomy and unity, but they also get to steal some land from the south, making the North the top winner of the north vs south cantonal war. The south is set to lose their cantonal autonomy and unity as well as their northern land, losing Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Delaware, and DC to the Northern United States' RC.

The Southern United States
The Chawosaurian government has been becoming weary of a unified southern canton since Chawosauria brutally expanded its control over the south in the end of the Chawosaurian Revolution in 2019. Supreme Leader Shang Jong Parker expressed deep fear of a potential southern rebellion for independence if the south remains united and decided that to keep this from happening, he needs to break the south apart and allow the north to expand its control to the south's northern territory to suppress southern identity.
The partition plan of the south was decided. Appalachia will be its own canton, North and South Carolina will be united into one Canton of Carolina, the Northern United States will gain control of Kansas, Missouri, Maryland, Deleware, and Washington DC, and the Mississippi River will divide the remaining south into two more Cantons, the Canton of Texas from the west and from the east, the Canton of Kingsmania, named in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr given that his campaign for desegregation and civil rights for African Americans in the south took place in the deep south.
The south's Chawosaurian representatives, of course, opposed the partition plan, but their voices, in the end, don't matter because the Chawosaurian government has absolute power and has the final say on what Chawosauria's borders will look like and there is completely nothing the south can do about it.
Americans
There was some talk of a Canton of America or a Canton of the United States of America, but that won't happen because the Chawosaurian government was so divided on that idea that they bitterly couldn't agree, rendering the dream of a Canton of America dead.
Canada
Canada in Chawosauria lost Eastern Canada, divided into three new Cantons: the Canton of Ontario, the Canton of Quebec, and the Canton of Atlantica. Some Chawosaurians will say Ontario is Canada, giving the Canton the nickname the "Canton of Canada", but that nickname also belongs to Atlantica, Atlantica is Atlantic Canada.
Adding to Canada's defeat, the Canton of Western Canada gains control of Manitoba, completing the whole Western Canadian region and is a victory and a key advancement for Western separatism due to a feeling known as "western alienation" that has been haunting Canada for decades.
Chawosaurian Jews
For the second time in a roll, Chawosauria refused the opportunity to offer their Jewish subjects a land within the Chawosaurian world on the holy land. Instead, Chawosauria establishes the Canton of Palestine specifically for Chawosaurian Palestinians with the Jews purposely excluded from the deal, this INFURIATED the Chawosaurian Jewish community and they finally grew tired of Chawosauria's century of constant antisemitic abuse of Chawosaurian Jews.
The Cantons that will go
The Cantons of Oceania, the Balkans, Northeast Africa, and the Andes will be breathing their last breaths until January 1, 2023, they will no longer be on the Chawosaurian world map.
