Parker's In For Reelection!
The Chawosaurian Communist Party announced on October 19, 2021, that Supreme Leader Shang Jong Parker will be their candidate for reelection in the 2029 Chawosaurian direct election and that's non-negotiable, even a primary is not going to happen. That is bad news for a potential anti or non-communist candidate for Supreme Leader.
Parker was at risk of not running at all because of the possibility that the Chawo-Uralic War could drag on to 2029. U.S. Presidents Harry S. Truman and Lyndon B. Johnson didn't have the luxury in their attempts to run for reelection during the unpopular deployment of U.S. troops to a war that has gotten out of control, U.S. President George W. Bush was term-limited during the Iraq War during the 2008 U.S. presidential election that U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney opted not to run to succeed old man Bush.
So how will challenging Shang Jong Parker's reelection be going to work? Well, Parker is unlikely to have a challenger at all because of the fear of losing to Parker in a landslide despite the war or his unpopularity, so they may put a yes-or-no survey on the ballot to determine his reelection status. The 2029 election may work the same way as the 2021 California gubernatorial recall election, where there were two questions on the ballot, the first being to vote whether to recall the governor and to vote for his replacement if one vote to remove the governor.
The planning is underway, election organizers are hoping to do a California recall system or something like that. They want to do a yes-or-no vote on whether Parker should be reelected and a second vote on replacement candidates only if Parker is rejected. Other plans include keeping in place the traditional system but Parker excluded and instead up for a yes-or-no vote on whether he should be reelected, but to Parker's opponents, that might be a bad idea because what the 2021 California recall election showed was Democrats primarily voting against recalling Newsom and just leave polling station and Republicans voting for Newsom's removal and vote on a replacement candidate of their choice, which benefited the Democrats because California is a Democratic state, giving the No Recall team a significant edge.
With Parker in the race, it will be complicated and tricky to execute the 2029 Chawosaurian direct election.
