What Would Garfield L. Webster Say About His Republican Party's Current State?

"I smell mutiny in this god-forsaken Republican Party, I smell mutiny in that blasted son of a bitch, Thomas E. Dewey" -Garfield Webster reacting to the 1948 presidential election results.

Just a little backstory

The Republican Party lost control of the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterm elections, and then in one single election, the White House and the Senate, all to the Democratic Party. The Republican Party, during the Trump era, has allowed a demonic force into their home, the Far-Right, a section of the right-wing spectrum that hates democracy, wants racial supremacy, and a suppressive autocratic and theocratic government, all of that similar to the Nazi regime in Germany back in the 1930s to the 1940s.

Trump as President stoked the flames of political, racial, and religious polarization, and demanded autocratic power to do as he pleases. Trump downplayed the severity of COVID-19, tried to exploit the Black Lives Matter uprising in anger towards George Floyd's death in the same fashion Richard Nixon exploited the King Assassination Riots back in the 1968 presidential campaign, and when things seemed blick for him, he focused on his own problems, trying to paint himself as some kind of crucified leader like Jesus of Nazareth, well, he wanted to be worshiped as Jesus. His opponent, Joe Biden, on the other hand, made himself out to be a man who can solve the problems of the American public and not looking for messiah-like fame like Trump was seeking.

The American people made up their minds: 51.3% of voters wanted Joe Biden for President instead of the incumbent, and this time unlike 2016, it actually translated with the electoral college, Biden wins 306 electoral votes to Trump's 232 electoral votes. Unwilling to accept defeat, Trump tried to overturn the election results (simply because he doesn't like the results) to win another term, but Trump is going to learn that it's gonna take more than balls to wage war on one of the world's greatest democracies in the modern human civilization.

The Trump campaign took the election results to court over 60 times, all lawsuits but one were all dismissed by the courts due to a lack of evidence of voter fraud done by the Democratic Party and their supporters, so when that went nowhere, Trump tried to pressure the state governments of swing states that he lost to invalidate their states' election results, replacing Biden's electors chosen by the people in these states with Trump electors, but the state governments said no. The electoral college met at the capitols of the 50 states plus the District of Columbia, and affirm Joe Biden as President-elect of the United States without any faithless electors.

With the electoral votes on their way to be counted by Congress, Trump thought this was his last stand to block Biden's path to the presidency, pressure Congress to throw out these ballots and unilaterally elect Trump themselves, which it's complicated because two chambers of Congress is not under the control of one single party, so he demanded Vice President Mike Pence to only certify Trump's electoral votes instead, but Pence has no power in that either. Angry and impatient, Trump summoned his supporters to march to the capitol and pressure Congress to throw out the electoral college results, but...it backfired monstrously when his supporters violently stormed the Capitol to overthrow the Republic of the United States to keep Trump in power.

Watching the riots unfold on TV, Trump realized that this insurrection will only go nowhere for him, Trump tried and failed miserably to cool things down without criticizing his supporters, saying to an address from the rose garden: "We love you, you're very special" and then tells them to go home in peace while still repeating claims of voter fraud, which again, does nothing to undo the damage. Congress delayed the process and hid in their bunkers until the rioters are cleared. Once they were cleared out by the military, Congress reconvened and certified Biden anyway, defying the demands of the mobsters.

During the situation at the capitol, the Democratic Party won back control of the Senate through two Senate runoff elections in Georgia, one of the states that Biden flipped away from the Republican Party. Trump's claims of voter fraud may have depressed Republican voter turnout in the State of Georgia but the power of liberal activists led by former Democratic nominee for Governor, Stacy Abrams, on the ground have stimulated Democratic voter turnout and taking advantage of the Democratic Party's new sunbelt base in a southern state like Georgia.

Georgia Democrats: Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock, will both represent Georgia, Ossoff until his first full six-year term is due in 2027. A 50-50 tie in the Senate but with Vice President Kamala Harris, as part of her powers as President of the Senate, will have the power to tie-break a Senate tie, effectively giving the Democratic Party control of the Senate, as well as the Presidency and the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, on the ground for Trump's world, he received a painful backlash from Corporate America, the general public, and his own party, for inciting an angry mob to raid the U.S. Capitol, which would be known as sedition and it is a serious crime under U.S. federal law. On January 20, 2021, Trump left office to very bad approval ratings for a departing President that his wife, First Lady Melania Trump, departs with a low popularity for a departing First Lady (and the first First Lady to do so). Big Tech de-platformed Trump and many of the far-right and their websites and social media platforms due to concerns for incoming far-right invasions.

The backlash was so bad that he got impeached...again by the House of Representatives. This time, by a bipartisan vote of 222-0 Democrats and 10-197 Republicans supported impeaching Trump, and it is said that although Trump was already on his way out, assuming that conviction by the Senate was not necessary, well, there is a subsequent vote following conviction to take away an impeached and convicted politician's eligibility to run for public office or even take public office, and unlike a conviction vote that takes 66 Senators, blocking Trump from public office takes a simple majority, 51 votes, and it is said that many Senate Republicans are planning to convict him to block him. Trump's threats of running a third-party candidacy may not help his cause at stopping Republicans from blocking him.

In Biden's inauguration, security was tight in the District of Columbia and state capitols across the country, successfully resulting in no problems, no attacks, and the successful preservation of public peace, allowing the inauguration process to peacefully take its string. This is probably because the far-right believed this much security and intense military presence in DC and other capitals was just too much for them to handle, so they reluctantly allowed Biden to have a smooth inauguration.

Bottom Line!

The Republican Party no longer controls the White House or any of the two chambers of Congress, and it's all thanks to Trump, his unpopularity, and his leadership style, which actually alienated crucial voting blocs that the Republican Party is very dependent on.

The Republican Party needs to win back suburban voters to be a living party again, but the violent insurrection at the U.S. Capitol and the Republicans' poor handling of the situation may won't do much good for their cause.

Now! Garfield Webster!

What would Garfield Webster think about his Republican Party if he were still alive?

In the Chawosaurian world, there are Republicans living in Chawosauria because Chawosauria is a cosmocratic nation. Prime Minister Garfield Lucas Webster was one of those Chawosaurian Republicans. But there is a difference between Garfield Webster and the Republican Party that he came to support since his immigration to the United States to rise to Chawosaurian politics.

Chawosaurian Republicans don't want to think about Garfield L. Webster, because a Chawosaurian Prime Minister who served a century ago who was a Republican himself is known to easily get angry even a person dropping a penny to the floor accidentally, he'd storm out, throw stuff to the wall, and yell at people as loud as a screaming banshee.

But some Chawosaurian Republicans are asking: "What would Garfield Webster do?" when talking about the current situation of the Republican Party following the fall of Donald Trump and his disastrous presidency.

When Republican, Thomas E. Dewey, lost to the Democratic incumbent U.S. President Harry S. Truman in the 1948 U.S. presidential election in which Dewey was expected to win, the 88-year-old Garfield Webster reacted to the election results, saying: "I smell mutiny in this god-forsaken Republican Party, I smell mutiny in that blasted son of a bitch, Thomas E. Dewey", and Webster meant what he said when expressing his disappointment with his own party. Webster hated President Truman, compared to how he felt about a previous but now deceased Democratic President, Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Webster's daughter, Dorothy, said: "When my father says "I smell mutiny", you better jump ship before he grabs by the breeches because when he does, it's not gonna be pretty"

"I smell mutiny", that is what Webster would say when he's about to blow up his red and smoking head. The Webster households are having those discussions, though they're all Democrats and avid supporters for President Joe Biden, they all say that maybe it's good that their eldest patriarch, Garfield Webster, is no longer walking the Earth to see what his Republican Party has become under Trump and the consequences for that party for embracing America's demons in exchange for the party's survival.

President Joseph R. Biden II, a Roman Catholic, and a Northeasterner, that is something Garfield Webster would absolutely relate to in a President because Webster himself was also a Roman Catholic and he gained affection for the Northeast when he landed on this country in 1883, and the Democratic Party has become the Republican Party seen in the 19th century before the Southern Strategy and the poison it has brought to the party until it becomes catastrophic.
