The Websterian Collapse of President Donald Trump

THE WEBSTERIAN COLLAPSE OF PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP!

Donald Trump, 45th President of the United States, has been cursed with what Chawosaurians in the Chawosaurian world call "the Websterian curse" or "Webster's curse" where a political leader falls from power--and grace--in the wake of a global pandemic and civil unrest, looks like the vengeful ghost of Garfield L. Webster has come to collect his due: Donald Trump.

Who was Garfield L. Webster?

Garfield Lucas Webster (Lived: January 17, 1860 - December 25, 1955) was the Chawosaurian world's 3rd Prime Minister of the Empire of Chawosauria who served from January 1, 1910, until his forced termination from the Prime Ministership on December 31, 1919, following his contraction with Influenza (the flu) during the 1918 flu pandemic.

Webster was born into wealth and privilege, he comes from the respected Webster family, but Webster was different, he used his power to speak to Chawosauria's working-class, he brought labor unions to political power, and established a progressive utopia that Chawosaurians still live under. But while Webster is widely remembered for his progressive legacy, he was also remembered by his downfall, his power collapsed in the beginning of World War I, which led to the Revolutions of 1917, which infamously included the Russian Revolution and subsequent civil war, which led to the birth of the Soviet Union and the foreshadowing of the threat of communism, and then despite the end of the war and with a big civil war in Russia waging on, a flu pandemic struck the world like it was the first flu pandemic the world has witnessed, and Webster was not able to handle the pandemic because of his mental insanity caused by the Revolutions and Wars. Webster gets infected after greeting flu patients in Chawosaurian hospitals, and because of his poor physical condition, he was told he cannot be a second-term Prime Minister.

Webster went on to live his final life in Alaska, and he died on Christmas morning in 1955 to brain cancer at age 95. Webster is today one of Chawosauria's most memorable and most loved Prime Ministers from Chawosaurian history.

Webster vs Trump

Donald Trump - 45th U.S. President

Donald Trump has some similarities with Garfield Webster. Like Webster, Trump fell from power, but he also fell from grace much like Webster. Trump is leaving America crippled by the Coronavirus pandemic that has become out of control and racial unrest caused by systemic racism, but Webster's pandemic and unrest were way beyond his control then Trump's pandemic and unrest, Trump feared public knowledge of the coronavirus pandemic would cripple the stock market + his reelection chances dependent on a strong economy for Trump to weaponize against the political opposition for the 2020 election, and then his silence and a blind eye to the reality of systemic racism that went too far with the police killing of George Floyd (an African-American), leading to an outburst of protests and riots in deep frustration over this problem being ignored by the government for decades. Trump and Webster are two different people, Webster couldn't technically or systemically control the devastating impact of the Revolutions of 1917 caused by World War I, and the flu epidemic, but it still brought him down, not electorally, but the fact that the 1918 pandemic touched Webster too, resulting in his dismissal from the premiership.

Trump was given a golden opportunity, after being impeached by the House of Representatives controlled by the opposition party, and acquitted by the Senate controlled by his party, thus giving him a clear image of being prosecuted by the opposition desperate to take him down for political gain. Trump was given an opportunity to prove his enemies and doubters that he is capable of uniting his countrymen (his supporters and opponents) against a clear enemy that is a clear threat to their lives, Coronavirus Disease 2019 (also known as COVID-19), ...but!

Trump was worried that public knowledge of an incoming pandemic would shake the aready-high stock market downward, thus leading to a recession, and we all know what happens to Presidents when they run for reelection in a recession-impacted economy...THEY GET CRUSHED. This fact resulted to Trump to lie about the coronavirus pandemic, downplay it, saying it will go away soon, and simply either just wish it away or recommend drugs clearly not prescribed against coronavirus. But these efforts were undermined by---wait for it!---the media. The media has become a big obstacle for Trump to lie to the public about coronavirus and the dangers it posed to people, Trump tries (as usual) to discredit the media, but that was met with a significant lack of success, the media repeatedly reported on the number of Americans who keep getting hospitalized for showing signs similar to COVID-19, and the more that happens, the more Trump's image is tarnished.

Trump's handling of the pandemic made his already unpopularity worse than it is, and it made his weak path of reelection even weaker than it was.

Then...

"I can't breathe!" - George Floyd

On May 26, 2020, an African-American man by the name of George Floyd was arrested by Minneapolis Police, but when he was arrested, a cop nealed on his neck, disabling him from breathing, he screamed "I can't breathe!" and he died, this incident was recorded by people walking by the arrest incident, the videos were uploaded on social media, becomes viral, and a backlash that into protests and riots broke out from Minnesota to worldwide, known as the George Floyd Protests.

Public support for Black Lives Matter surged due to rising sympathy even among Whites, it is this level of new support that enabled the cancel culture movement and the BLM movement itself to make drastic societal changes such as the removal of monuments of historical figures who have done human rights abuses despite their monumental accomplishments, and the removal of flags, the renaming of products, etc, whose names are said to have a politically incorrect connotation meant to offend or oppress certain minority communities.

In response to these protests and riots, the US government send troopers to contain them, probably under the orders of President Trump, while Webster ordered the slaughter of socialist sympathizers to the Russian Revolution, which garnered both Webster and Trump widespread backlash.

Unable to dig himself out of the hole of the loss of a prosperous pre-pandemic U.S. economy to a viral airborne pandemic that he could not seem to manage, or even try to heal racial tensions caused by the killing of George Floyd, Trump's approval ratings plummet and his reelection chances seemed to have only deteriorated.

Trump didn't seem like he was mentally there when he bragged about taking a cognitive test that he allegedly takes while trying to paint his challenger, Democrat, Joe Biden, was cognitively impaired because Biden was old, which it's ironic because Trump is in the same age category at Biden (both men are in their 70s, only Biden is even older). Trump bragging about 'passing' a Montreal Cognitive Assessment by "getting extra points if he does a certain task required by an MCA" in a child-like manner made people think Trump is "psychologically narcissistic and plainly insane".

Trump's mental fitness has always been a question of concern due to his personalities such as his reaction to media criticism and scrutiny, his inability to make peace with his critics in general, and his desire to win public approval, are all signs point to narcissistic personality disorder.

A pandemic, a wave of civil unrest, and questions of Trump's mental fitness long before 2020, that is the same situation Garfield Webster had to put up with.

Trump supporters invading the United States Capitol Building to intimidate Congress into not declaring President-elect Joseph Robinette Biden II (D-DE) as the 46th President of the United States.

THEN...Trump incited a mob of his supporters to raid the U.S. Capitol to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden as the actual winner of the 2020 election, but the mob shortly succeeded, only to be removed from the capitol where Congress still certified Biden as the winner, so the riot went nowhere, and then that made even Republicans begin to think maybe Trump was insane.

Trump lost the 2020 election for the White House to Democrat Joe Biden, and he cannot undo that, he tried to overturn the results of the election to stay in power by alleging voter fraud but is laughed out by the entire United States Judiciary for a lack of evidence, he then tries to state governments to overturn or invalidate the election results of their states, that also went nowhere, and then finally, he tried to change the electoral college results with the hope of faithless electors switching from Biden to Trump, but that hit a brick wall because, on the day of the official Electoral College vote, Biden nor Trump suffered any defections, keeping Biden's victory strongly intact, which actually surprised some people.

Trump then wanted his VP Mike Pence to throw out the electoral college votes and officially declare him [Trump] the victor, but he has no power to do that and Pence even refused to do just that for Trump, and the possibility of Congress just outright throws out the electoral college votes and elect Trump unilaterally through a contingent election is very very weak because both chambers of Congress are not under the control of one party.

Trump finally lost his patients and then called for a protest at the capitol to intimidate Congress to possibly contingently elect him, but it backfired greatly when his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol, threatening the safety of members of Congress, fighting with security and law enforcement, and then stole and vandalized public property and personal belongings of possibly members of Congress and their employees. The rioters were removed by the military after a delayed deployment, Congress then re-convene to still certify Biden as President, and then came under the threat of possibly being removed from office either by impeachment (with Republican support this time compared to last time) or the 25th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which gives the President's cabinet the power to remove their own boss if they believe the President is too unfit mentally for office.

Trump's stranglehold on the Republican Party begins to crumble following the riots, increasing the inclining of Republicans to support Democrats' second impeachment, and then conviction. Trump reluctantly conceded that Biden will become President and he will not contest the 2020 election anymore longer and urged his supporters to move on beyond 2020. With the loss of the Republican Party, completely exhausted routes to snatch the 2020 election from Biden, his social media accounts severely limited or blocked, and the escalated threat of legal prosecution, Trump's fall from grace is greater than Webster's, and Trump will have an even polarized but mostly negative legacy compared to Webster.

Garfield Webster - 3rd E.O.C. Prime Minister

Garfield Webster becomes Prime Minister in 1910 in an environment where populism was rapid, much like Donald Trump in 2016, and also like Trump, Webster offered a populist, non-mainstream approach to politics, but Webster actually won popular approval, something Trump couldn't do.

Before polls were even a thing, Webster was at first not a popular Prime Minister for the establishment's excessive use of the "socialist" label, but Webster fought back with newly emerging media technology of the day: sound recording and movie cameras for the public to see at movie theaters to connect with the people, Webster's speech: The March of the Workers of the World address, which successfully outlined Webster's progressive agenda for the working class, and it blew up Webster's unpopularity into the ashes and made Webster one of Chawosauria's most popular Prime Ministers ever lived.

Webster used his new popularity to pressure the Chawopolis Palace and Emperor Santiago to enact his agenda of progressive reforms and initiatives against their will, and it was that popularity that made the conservative majority in the Chawopolis Palace worried about the 1915 Chawosaurian legislative elections, resulting in their desire to work with Webster to avoid alienating their constituents that they'll need for reelection against their liberal challengers.

Webster was a well-accomplished Prime Minister, he systemically empowered labor unions into political power and weakened that of corporations. Webster established public boarding schools paid for by the taxes of higher-class Chawosaurians, as well as free and universal healthcare also paid for by primarily the same higher-class taxpayers. Webster established a national living wage, outlawed child labor, and put in place the first-ever environmental protection laws as well as Chawosauria's first hydroelectricity plants, Webster legalized collective bargaining, exercised some collectivist practices of farming goods, required corporations to practice workplace democracy, and among other progressive to quite liberal policies, commencing Webster's image as one of Chawosauria's most progressive Prime Ministers and a hero to working-class Chawosaurians. Today, all of Webster's policies and programs are still in effect on Chawosaurian society, labor unions have gotten stronger over the years since Webster's death, the working-class has been secured, and the Chawosaurian electorate leans to the left as a result of a desire among the public to protect these programs against right-wing politicians.

Then came World War I in 1914, where Garfield Webster will learn that presiding over a nation as Prime Minister through a world war is not really a popular idea. Webster reluctantly had the 1915 elections canceled due to the dangerous environment of the war, thus giving his conservative enemies an extended-term that would last until 1919, and Webster is once again a bitterly unpopular Prime Minister simply because he was Prime Minister presiding Chawosauria through a world war, which it's again not a popular thing for a Prime Minister to do.

Webster had to do what Chawosauria's constitution requires the Prime Minister to do when leading Chawosauria in wartime. Webster had to cancel elections, thus giving politicians extended-terms, he had to impose a War Tax, which are taxes the Chawosaurian government needs to pay for war-related things, though Chawosauria never participated in the war, the war tax is still needed to take care of injured Chawosaurian civilians in warzones, repair public properties of Chawosauria damaged by the war, and aid Chawosaurians who were put into poverty by the war.

Webster got a wave of the blame for Chawosaurians being drafted into war by all sides of the war due to dual citizenship, as well as the blame for those Chawosaurians who either died in battle or were killed in war circumstances on civilian areas.

While there were race riots under Webster in the United States such as the Red Summer of 1919, there was the Revolutions of 1917, which coincided with the Russian Revolution, a global uprising wave of socialism, anarchism, and pacifism spurred by the anti-war movement in reaction to World War I.

The Russian Empire, which was where Garfield Webster was born but never lived there nor his ancestry of any Russian roots, crumbles in 1917 to the Bolshevik Uprising due to class inequality and a lack of democracy in the nation itself that was reigned by the Tsars, the incumbent Tsar was Nicholas II.

Russia's Romanov dynasty was overthrown by the Bolsheviks (Russian Communists) and then was killed, a civil war breaks out in Russia, and Webster felt the psychological pain of losing the empire where his life has begun. Webster's loss of Russia was so painful that it would lead to his subsequent mental breakdown to pure insanity also caused by the political pressure of the Bolshevik uprising in Russia, revolutions around the world, a world war, and a flu pandemic.

Have you ever heard the term "You drive me insane!"? Well, Webster was literally driven to insanity. having to deal with the political pressure of World War I, the Bolshevik uprising in Russia, the Revolutions of 1917 around the world, and an Influenza pandemic is gonna make Webster break to irrational behavior such as cutting his own arm to consume his own blood, doing things without conscientious and seeing things that aren't physically there, he became so insane that he even went too far as to burn the whole city of Chawopolis to the ground over a bad dream about witchcraft.

Like Trump, Webster, and the Spanish flu pandemic, Revolutions of 1917, and his insanity.

Bottom Line!

Webster and Trump both fell from power very hard, they retreated from their positions of power very hated by their fellow countrymen for the crisis they could not control, questions and concerns about their mental qualities, and to be metaphoric, their fiddling while their Romes were burning.

Webster and Trump were born into wealthy rich backgrounds, they both held a Social Darwinist belief that only the biggest and the strongest are the most superior and the most dominant, and they sought to be powerful, the most admired, and the influential, but it was these characteristics of these two men that led to their downfalls.

But Garfield Webster actually got what he wanted, he wanted to be the greatest Prime Minister Chawosauria has offered to the world, and he accomplished that, Webster is known for the mass wave of progressive reforms that still benefits Chawosaurian society, labor unions have stronger political power in Chawosauria, corporations do not, Chawosaurians regardless of their socio-economic class have access to free education, healthcare, and housing, all paid for by the taxes of really rich taxpayers and corporations, green-collar jobs are well present in many places in Chawosauria, and strong reserves meant to protect nature in Chawosauria.

Webster truly left a mark on Chawosauria, and that mark is way further than these progressive reforms, that is what Webster is best remembered for, and that is why Webster is a widely beloved and most recognizable historical figure to both fans and critics in Chawosaurian history. His mark is so great and almost all of Chawosaurian politics lives by his example.

Webster is the Prime Minister of Chawosauria who is well-accomplished, but with Trump, his mark on American society is a badly polarized America, political incorrectness so out of control that the U.S. Capitol was invaded, the consequences of COVID-19 in America, and an era where facts and maybe American greatness are things of the past. Donald Trump is not Garfield Webster, and that is why Trump will not have the legacy Webster is enjoying.
