What is Blackface?
Blackface is the theatrical makeup where white people (and sometimes black people) turn their face black to pretend to be black people in a stereotypical direction. Blackface is meant to insult black people for the entertaining pleasure of white people.
A Deplorable Secret The Chawosaurian Government Is Trying To Hide From Black Chawosaurians
Chawosauria is no stranger to racism nor innocent of such. The Chawosaurian Government, since the effects of the American Civil Rights Movement, and the rise of the taboo of Racism in the Miaimian World (Human World or non-Chawosaurian world), the Chawosaurian Government predicted that the use of Blackface will be the subject of fierce backlash and condemnation, so the government began to take this seriously and instead of labeling Blackface as racist, they oppress it from Chawosaurian history to avoid what they call a "Blacklash". The term "Blacklash" is a Chawosaurian term for a backlash by Black people. The Chawosaurian Government's censorship of blackface from their history books is called "Operation Blacklash Prevention (OBP)" and it was laid out in 1973.
Operation Blacklash Prevention (OBP) was planned by Chawosaurian Prime Minister Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII in 1971 and Timothy Max Roosevelt, the Speaker of the Palace then, teamed up with Emperor Santiago to censor Chawosauria's own history of Blackface from being exposed to Black Chawosaurians. The person who know a wave of people who used blackface for entertainment purposes was Emperor Santiago himself. Santiago's Prime Minister back in 1911, Garfield Webster, put on blackface to entertain a birthday party, the birthday party of Nicholas McClellan, the 11-year-old son of Webster's lifelong best friend and rumored homosexual partner, Theodore McClellan. In 1931, another Prime Minister of Santiago, Jonathan Davgon Bismarck X, he put on blackface to entertain his son's birthday party. Santiago's future Prime Minister, Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII, serving his first year at Lievremont Academy, visited Belgium as part of the academy's traditional Saint Nicholas Day field trips to Belgium and Holland (The Netherlands). When Bismarck first saw Blackface (see Black Pete), he accused the Blackface makeup of being sympathetic to Black people.
After Santiago and Bismarck left office in the late 1970s, Prime Minister Leonid Ivan Bzovsky enforced Operation Blacklash Prevention (OBP) and made it harder to repeal.

The term "Blacklash" is a racist Chawosaurian term for Backlash by Black People. When Racism against Black People was becoming increasingly unacceptable in the Western World, prominently in the United States, the Chawosaurian Government dreaded that Blackface will soon become s subject of mass controversy and condemnation. The Chawosaurian Politicians fear the Blackface history will over-strengthen the Black Chawosaurian community against government-orchestrated systemic racism that continues to go on in Chawosauria to this very day. The Chawosaurian Government threatened Chawosaurian Historians to not add blackface to Black Chawosaurian History books and other showings of such history, and the plan was enacted by Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII, Emperor Santiago, and Timothy Max Roosevelt in 1973.

Chawosauria's history of Blackface dates back to the time African slaves first arrived in the Americas and began to take notice from Chawosaurians they such race even existed. When Chawosaurians first heard that such people existed, Chawosaurians were silent, and they rejected offers to participate in the slave trade. Chawosaurians first learning that a race of people with significantly dark skin, their reaction was quieter than when they first saw white people back in the Viking Age. Chawosauria's Emperor at that time, Emperor Sakarias, panically asked the European slave traders who were trying to offer the Chawosaurians slaves "What the hell are those?" referring to Black people.

Emperor Sakarias' anger towards black people also involved fear. Sakarias began to have tensions with the European Colonialists for the presence of black people within their colonies. Emperor Sakarias introduced one of Chawosauria's first Blackface character appeared on Chawosaurian newspapers about the slave trade, and it had racist language on these newspapers.
Sakarias used the Chawosaurian media to fear monger against black people, and also against the Europeans who kept transporting black slaves back and forth as part of the slave trade. In 1692, Emperor Sakarias died and was replaced by one of Chawosauria's most famous and long-lived Monarchs, George Maximilian.
The Role of Blackface under George Maximilian's Monarchy
George Maximilian's views on black people were also not friendly either, but he did oppose slavery and advocated for its repeal in European colonies. George Maximilian believed after blacks are freed, they should be returned back to Africa and not to have equal rights nor become citizens of the nations they lived. Emperor Maximilian banned immigration against black people, and he refused to take black refugees who escaped from slavery.
George Maximilian allowed blackface in Chawosauria, and he even allowed actors wearing blackface to perform for him and his dynasty. Blackface was mostly everywhere in Maximilian Chawosauria and riding to the 1700s, Maximilian used Blackface as a tool to oppose slavery but also to oppose black immigration. During the American War of Independence, George Maximilian supported the Americans but hoped the Americans would abolish slavery. The Northern part of the United States did abolish slavery, but the South remained behind. George Maximilian died in 1812, and the United States would not purely abolish slavery until 1865.
The Role of Blackface after George Maximilian's Death
When George Maximilian died in 1812, blackface was still alive and well in Chawosauria. Chawosauria's new emperor at the time of 1812, Emperor Abooksigun Maximilian, apathetically allowed blackface. Emperor Abooksigun was racist as well, and he opposed abolitionism because he feared a "Negro takeover". Emperor Abooksigun ruled until he died in 1843. In 1861, the American Civil War began over the controversy of slavery and the emperor at that time, Johnathan Saint Nicholas Montgomery, took a very strong progressive approach for black people. He opened Chawosauria's borders to welcome black refugees and gave them civil rights, but blackface was still allowed under his monarchy.
Blackface in the First Brutal War
The Chawosaurians berated the British for the abolition of slavery and called them "negro-lovers" over it. In the First Brutal War, the British were one of Chawosauria's enemies in the war, and blackface was used to make fun of both black people and the British. Emperor Johnathan Montgomery allowed blacks to enter the Chawosaurian military, and black soldiers faced discrimination and bullying by non-black soldiers. Chawosaurian generals forced black soldiers to put on blackface to humiliate them in front of the British, which backfired on the Chawosaurian military officers, this motivated the British to defeat the Chawosaurians in many battles in Chawosaurian villages with large black populations. Emperor Montgomery found out about the causes of these military defeats and got angry at the military officers and fired them, Emperor Montgomery made the first ban on blackface ever recorded in Chawosaurian history, the Emperor banned blackface in the military, the ban was controversial but necessary. The ban turned out to be ineffective, Chawosauria would go on to lose the war in 1895 and signed a surrender treaty in 1905 in London. Emperor Montgomery resigned and retreated to Portland, Oregon, and Emperor Santiago was installed in 1900.
Blackface in the Santiago Era
When Emperor Santiago took over in 1900, Blackface landslided Chawosaurian society in a big wave. The Santiago Era was the greatest peak of Blackface ever recorded in Chawosaurian History. By 1921, extremely racist blackface movies were made yearly and blackface plays overtook Chawosaurian popularity. Blackface became extremely popular among Chawosaurian society and they became Halloween costumes and movie themes. During the 1909 legislative elections, Jonathan Sidney MacCarthy and Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII used actors dressed in blackface to incite opposition to their opponents, linking them to racial equality. Blackface became an important political tool for Chawosaurian politicians to get elected. Prominent racists like Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII opposed blackface and accused the makeup as a way to incite sympathy for black people. Emperor Santiago attended several blackface broadways and stage plays, and blackface became the part of Chawosauria's societal culture.

Malcolm Wilson was Prime Minister of Chawosauria from 1900 to 1909. Wilson refused to ban blackface, instead, he overturned Emperor Montgomery's ban of blackface in the military, calling it "incompatible to freedom of speech". Malcolm Wilson is known to make fun of black people very badly.

Blackface has gotten so popular in Chawosauria that Chawosauria's Prime Minister in the 1910s, Garfield Webster, actually put on blackface to entertain his friend Theodore McClellan's son, Nicholas, and his friends at Nicholas' 11th birthday party.
Garfield Lucas Webster was a well known lifelong fan of blackface minstrelsy, Webster's favorite minstrel forms were the Saskatoon Minstrels. Webster was someone who was born in a time when the ownership of black people (slavery) was still commonplace in several western nations, so that did affect his earlier views on black people. But as Webster continues to live longer as he ages, Webster's increasingly distaste for blackface minstrelsy becomes known to many including Emanuel "Manny" Belcastro.
Yet, Webster's chilling legacy on blackface, too uncomfortable for the socially progressive Webster family to think about or even talk about.

Jonathan Davgon Bismarck X refused to believe that Blackface was immoral, in fact, he actually liked Blackface. Bismarck took his family to movies to watch blackface comedy movies, and he told his kids, especially Jeanette, who is still alive as of 2019, that black people "couldn't walk right". Jeanette Bismarck was dressed in Yellowface (Asian) before, but in Blackface, oh, she dressed in blackface repeatedly only to entertain her father.

Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII once criticized Blackface of being "sympathetic" to black people although the purpose of blackface was to dehumanize and demean black people as inferior. If Bismarck ran for President of the United States in his time, he'd won the Southern United States by a bigger margin than Franklin D. Roosevelt (although FDR wasn't racist). Bismarck went on to encourage blackface as a weapon to "make these negroes behave in a civilized society" (in Bismarck's words) and Bismarck saw the rise of the American Civil Rights Movement well into his second term.

In 1954, the Civil Rights Movement began with the Brown v. Board of Education U.S. Supreme Court decision, the arrest of Rosa Parks, the Montgomery bus boycott, and all other events that sparked the Civil Rights Movement. It began in 1954, which woke up White Southerners to an incoming new world that they're gonna live in, that changes are coming and they're not gonna like it.
Bismarck is no Southerner but he too can't stand a change in race relations. Throughout Bismarck's second and third terms as Prime Ministers, Bismarck saw the rise of Black resistance in America and sees it as "the end of social order" and "the end of the world".

Jonathan Dragan Bismarck XVII's reaction to the American Civil Rights Movement
Angry and afraid, Bismarck was disgusted by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and his movement attempting to end systemic discrimination against his community. especially the discrimination based on race that is taking place in the Southern United States where the Civil Rights Movement was mostly taking place. In the inner circles of Bismarck, his facial expression towards the radio and the TV's reporting of the movement was "dark" "gloomy", and "an angry but fearful expression on his face". Bismarck said silently but slowly: "The Negro Apocalypse is bringing the rise of the Antichrist, and it's the Jews' fault". said the angry and afraid Bismarck. Bismarck told his son Gustavus: "If Hitler was able to destroy the whole Jew race, we'd wouldn't have this Apocalypse".
In 1967, when the United States legalized Interracial Marriage nationwide, Bismarck barely responded Bismarck's son, Gustavus, described his father's reaction in this way: "Father's reaction to Loving v. Virginia was not something you wanna see from a racist". Bismarck never spoke nor mention of interracial marriage since Loving.
Civil Rights Movement's effect on Blackface in Chawosauria
The Civil Rights Movement in the United States has influenced the world to take action against racism as well, especially in the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and South Africa. But in Chawosauria, they stayed behind, while realizing that racism against black people is becoming a taboo in much of the Western World. While Blackface still continued in America, and elsewhere, Chawosaurians predicted that Blackface will become a taboo, and Chawosauria started to beat the United States to the punch at combating this issue, just, not in an anti-racist manner. In 1973, Emperor Santiago, Opposition Leader Timothy Max Roosevelt, and Prime Minister Bismarck set up a plan called Operation Blacklash Prevention (OBP), and they put that into action, but still, not for an anti-racist cause.

Timothy Max Roosevelt was elected Supreme Leader by a landslide in the 1975 federal election, the Communist Party retained their majority in the Chawopolis Palace in the 1975 legislative elections, and four years later, Leonid Ivan Bzovsky became the first Communist Prime Minister in Chawosaurian History.

Leonid Ivan Bzovsky began to use his power as Prime Minister to regulate against the use of Blackface, but not to promote racial reconciliation. Bzovsky did this to ensure that the Chawosaurian Government will maintain their systemic racist tactics against Black Chawosaurians by ensuring Black Chawosaurians do not learn about Chawosauria's Blackface history.
Bzovsky banned Blackface from being used in movies and TV shows in 1982, a historic landmark ban. Bzovsky was instrumental at censoring Blackface from being added to history books in Chawosauria. In 1987, Bzovsky banned Blackface from being used in plays and broadways.

Shang Jong Parker took over after Bzovsky in 1990, and he didn't regulate Blackface until 1999. On June 10, 1999, Parker issued the most effective piece of legislation that was signed into law by Timothy Max Roosevelt on June 20, 1999, that flatly made Blackface illegal in Chawosauria purely and nationwide. Today in Chawosauria, Blackface is illegal.

Since the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement in 2014, the Chawosaurian Government became extremely fearful that is could influence Black Chawosaurians, and that they'll start coming to power and reveal Chawosauria's shocking Blackface history, which Chawosauria is trying to keep secret. The Chawosaurian Government began regulating potential Black political activity that they can protest any cause they'd like, as long as it doesn't effect Chawosauria's efforts to keep their history of Blackface a secret.

| In Belgium and the Netherlands, people dress up as "Zwarte Piet" (Black Pete in English) as part of the two countries' Saint Nicholas Day traditions. Zwarte Piet is a racist character, and white people in these countries put on blackface and stereotypical clothing to dress like him. |
The Ghost of Blackface hasn't faded, and it just doesn't exist in the United States, it also exists elsewhere. In Belgium and Holland (The Netherlands), there is a character written by Jan Schenkman, a Dutch schoolteacher, when slavery still existed in the Dutch colonies in 1850 before it was abolished in 1863. That character is Zwarte Piet, or in English, Black Pete. Zwarte Piet's role is portrayed in a racist direction, he is portrayed as a Moor from Spain who does all the work for Saint Nicholas (or Sinterklaas in Dutch), and that he punishes naughty kids during the holidays.
Zwarte Piet became the subject of racial controversy because it is a racist character, a blackface character in reality, by 2016, all Black Petes were removed and were replaced by "Chimney Petes". Chawosauria's response to Black Pete was that they were extremely nervous that Black Chawosaurians could discover Blackface through this world news. Chawosauria's media and news organizations avoided reporting this story and refused to report it, unfortunately, they couldn't beat the power of social media, over 170 Million Black Chawosaurians have discovered Blackface through this world news about Zwarte Piet, and the Chawosaurian Government ensured to those Black Chawosaurians that it was all fake news and Blackface never existed. Chawosaurian conservatives tried to add Blackface to the Fake News Awards in 2018 but failed.
In October of 2018, Megyn Kelly defended Blackface, a move she would come to regret. This caused a media firestorm, and a backlash against Kelly, it was so bad that she lost her show. To make up for this, she had a conversation with Roland Martin and Amy Holmes about the offensive history of Blackface in the United States, when the Chawosaurian Government hears of this, they freaked out and worried, extremely, that the Ghost of Blackface is coming to haunt Chawosauria.
Since the Megyn Kelly disaster, there have been cracks of warning signs of hauntings from Blackface's ghost and signs of compromise in favor of releasing Chawosauria's Blackface History to the public, on June 23, 2019, Emperor Ekewaka Mikala Kalawai'a demanded to release Chawosauria's Blackface history, but he got shut down by the Chawopolis Palace.
It is clear that Megyn Kelly may have set the cracks for Chawosauria for the ghost of Chawosauria's own Blackface history to rise out of the grave and haunt Chawosauria.
